Step-by-step instructions

  1. From a Warrior II stance, bend your front knee so it stacks directly over your front ankle, keeping a micro-bend so the knee never collapses inward.

  2. Turn your front palm up and, on an inhale, reach that arm up and back toward the sky as your other hand slides lightly down your back leg.

  3. Keep your front knee tracking over the middle toes and let your back leg stay strong and straight to support the side bend.

  4. Lengthen up and over through the top arm, keeping both sides of your waist long so you bend sideways rather than crunching the lower back.

  5. Hold for 3 to 5 breaths, gazing past your top hand while keeping your chest open and core lightly engaged.

  6. On an exhale, float back to Warrior II, then repeat on the second side.
