Step-by-step instructions
Lie on your back and draw both knees in toward your chest, keeping your head and shoulders relaxed on the floor.
Open your knees wider than your torso and reach up to hold the outside edges of your feet, soles facing the ceiling (loop a strap around each foot if you can't reach comfortably).
Stack your ankles over your knees so your shins are vertical, and gently flex your feet.
Lengthen your tailbone toward the mat and press your lower back down so it stays grounded, protecting it as you draw your knees toward the floor.
Keep your hips heavy and only pull as far as the hips comfortably allow, breathing slowly and evenly without forcing the stretch.
Hold for 5 to 10 breaths, then release your feet and hug your knees in to rest before lowering them down.
