Step-by-step instructions
Stand with your feet very wide apart, toes pointing forward and your hands at your heart.
Bend deeply into your right knee, sending your hips back and down, while keeping your left leg straight with its toes lifted or pointing up.
Track your bent right knee directly over your ankle and toes, never letting it collapse inward, to protect the knee and hip joints.
Press into the outer edges of both feet and lengthen your spine, resting your hands on the floor or a block for support as you breathe steadily.
Hold for several slow breaths, then press through your bent foot to rise and repeat on the other side.
