Step-by-step instructions
Stand and step your feet about a leg's length apart, turning your right foot to point straight out to the side and angling your left foot slightly in.
Place a block on the floor just outside your right ankle so you have a tall, stable surface to reach toward, and extend both arms out to shoulder height.
Inhale to lengthen, then exhale and reach your torso out over the right leg before lowering your right hand onto the block and floating the left arm up toward the ceiling.
Keep a micro-bend in your right knee and lengthen evenly through both sides of your waist so your lower back stays long, drawing your low belly gently in to support it.
Stack your shoulders and turn your chest open toward the ceiling, breathing steadily for five to eight breaths and resting the back body against a wall if you want extra stability.
To come out, press firmly into both feet, inhale, and rise back to standing, then turn your feet and repeat on the left side.
