Step-by-step instructions
Start in Mountain Pose and root down evenly through your standing left foot, lengthening up through the crown of the head.
Shift your weight onto the left leg and draw your right knee up toward your chest, clasping your hands around the shin just below the knee.
Hug the knee in gently and keep both hips level, drawing the lower belly in and lengthening your spine tall rather than leaning back.
Fix your gaze on a steady point ahead and breathe smoothly, pressing the standing foot down to find your balance; rest a hand on a wall if you feel wobbly.
Hold for 5 breaths, then lower the right foot back to the floor with control and repeat on the other side.
