Step-by-step instructions
Set up in Warrior I by stepping one foot back, angling the back foot to about 45 degrees, and bending your front knee over your ankle.
Square your hips and chest forward and draw your tailbone down so your lower back stays long as you settle into the lunge.
Bring your arms into a cactus shape, bending the elbows to about 90 degrees with the upper arms at shoulder height and palms facing forward.
Draw your shoulder blades together to open the chest, keeping your shoulders down and avoiding any forcing or pinching in the joints.
Press through the outer edge of your back foot and breathe into the front of your chest as you hold.
Stay for 3 to 5 breaths, then release the arms, straighten the front leg, and repeat on the other side.
