Step-by-step instructions
Sit cross-legged with a tall spine and rest your left hand or fingertips on the floor beside your left hip.
Inhale and sweep your right arm up alongside your ear, lengthening up through the right side of your body.
Exhale and bend gently to the left, keeping both sitting bones grounded so the stretch lengthens the side waist rather than compressing your lower back.
Keep your chest open and turned slightly upward, and relax your right shoulder down away from your ear instead of jamming it up.
Breathe into the stretched right ribs and hold for 4 to 6 breaths, feeling the space open along your side body.
Inhale to rise back to center, lower your arm, and repeat on the other side to balance both sides evenly.
