Step-by-step instructions
Stand with feet together, bend your knees, and sink your hips back as if sitting into a chair, keeping a soft bend so the knees stay protected.
Bring your palms together at your chest and check that your knees stay level and track over your toes, not past them.
On an exhale, hook your left elbow to the outside of your right thigh and press your palms evenly together to deepen the twist.
Lengthen your tailbone down and keep your spine long so the rotation comes from your upper back and ribs rather than rounding the lower back.
Hold for 3 to 5 breaths, drawing your navel in and keeping both hips squared forward.
Inhale to unwind back to center, then repeat the twist to the other side.
