How is my personalized yoga plan built: the safety filter, difficulty matching and completion queue

Yogin2 min read

Your personalized Yogin plan is built from the profile you give during onboarding: your experience level, focus areas, goals, sensitive or injured areas, and your height and weight. The app first filters the pose library by safety — dropping poses that would stress your sensitive areas — then filters by difficulty, and scores what is left by your yoga type, focus and goal. So even though the plan is generated, it is both safe and personal.

Safety is always the first gate. Poses that stress the areas you marked as injured or sensitive are removed before the plan is even assembled. This is not a warning or a “be careful” note — those poses are taken out of your pool entirely, so the list anything is chosen from is already safe.

The poses that pass the safety filter are then matched by difficulty. Movements that are too advanced for your experience level are dropped, leaving poses that fit where you actually are. The aim is to keep you at a level that is neither so easy it bores you nor so hard it strains you.

What remains is then scored. Using your yoga type, your chosen focus areas and your goal, the app surfaces the poses that suit you best from what is left. The filters decide what is safe and appropriate; the scoring picks the ones that fit your plan most closely.

The chosen poses are not lined up at random. Every session follows a warm-up → single peak → cool-down arc: it opens with movements that ease your body in, builds to one high point, and closes with poses that settle you. Holds are scaled to fill the duration you chose, and difficulty ramps gently across the weeks, so progress is gradual rather than a jump.

The plan itself is a queue, and it only advances when you complete a session. “Day N” here is not a calendar date — it is the Nth session you actually do. Miss a day and you do not fall behind; you simply pick up where you left off, because the plan tracks your practice, not the calendar.

Yogin’s platform clients are being rolled out gradually. The homepage links to a live store listing when one is configured; otherwise, it offers platform-specific early access. If you have more questions about your plan, see our FAQ.
